Color Purple has it's surprises
"A wonderful experience overall, with a few disappointments. The problem with the musical, however, is that you'll be constantly comparing it to the movie. We found it very difficult to understand the dialogue of the songs and some of the actors. As well, if you loved the movie, then you may not enjoy the play as much. The musical was very well acted, with amazing choreography and singing. We couldn't pinpoint if it was due to the orchestra outperforming the singing or poor sound quality in the theatre, but numerous times throughout the show we found ourselves asking, "What did she say?"."
